Cam Mitchell plants white cedars on the Mitchell family's 160 acres of diverse forest land outside of Duluth Minnnesota. He catches a glimpse of some of the many mosquitos out in full force. The Mitchell's land steward efforsts on their land range from conservations easements, riparian restoration, regularly planting and protecting hundreds of climate conscious native trees each spring, harvesting diseased trees, to wildlife and pollinator development. The Mitchells plant anywhere from 250-1200 trees a year each spring. They often work with a long list of conservation groups to help fund their efforts, including the NRCS and Trout Unlimited. White cedars are slow growing trees that usually live to be 200 years.
